CVB New Common Vision Blox - Version 9.01
CVB

More than just a standard!

Common Vision Blox (CVB) is the only independent programming library for image processing that offers not only the algorithms required for evaluating the images, but also comprehensive facilities for controlling the image capture hardware.

Whereas many vendors of programming libraries either provide the algorithms only or support only their own hardware, CVB is geared to the user's requirements. And users in industrial environments need competent, comprehensive support from image capture right through to image evaluation.

CVB evolved against the background of a unique constellation: The software was developed by Europe's leading distributor of image processing components. And this means that the comprehensive expertise gained from many years of intensive customer care was able to be exploited in particular in the area of hardware control. The developers at STEMMER IMAGING are in daily contact with many industrial image processing users in a whole range of different sectors. This made it possible to design CVB, and in particular the highly complex image capture process, around the practical requirements of the users and to incorporate their suggestions.

As far as image capture is concerned, Common Vision Blox supports all common standards (CameraLink, IEEE, USB) as well as special custom solutions. Even cutting-edge standards such as GigE Vision and GenICam have been fully integrated into CVB, allowing its users to enjoy the benefits of this technology already.

At the same time, the unmatched degree of hardware abstraction in Common Vision Blox makes it easy for users to switch between the various capture technologies without having to accept a loss of performance. This means that CVB users can change to different hardware during development or even subsequently during live operation without the need to change the application.

It goes without saying that CVB also provides the algorithms behind a wide range of standard tools. But free access to the abstracted image data means that users can use their own algorithms or free algorithms from the Internet anyway so that they can choose for themselves "how much CVB" they want to use. And if the application warrants it, CVB of course offers a whole range of tools that are capable of far more than simply solving standard image processing tasks.

As we said, CVB is far more than just one standard!

The STEMMER IMAGING Group is Europe's largest independent supplier for machine vision technology. Our experience of more than 30 years, combined with our wide range of components and systems, plus our comprehensive support services enables us to offer an unrivalled "one-stop-shopping" for all industrial image processing requirements.

Our vast experience, especially in control of different hardware has been incorporated in Common Vision Blox, THE software platform for quick and reliable development and implementation of image processing applications. Common Vision Blox is a powerful, modular, flexible and at the same time cost-effective solution for image acquisition and processing. Based on the open architecture all common standards (CameraLink, IEEE, USB) as well as GigE Vision and Genicam are fully supported. In addition to the extensive set of standard tools, CVB offers a large selection of highly specialized tools, as well as the possibility to integrate own algorithms easily.
