Add-on products:
Usefull function enhancements from CLIO to OPTO trigger

Many system can be installed with the standard features of microEnable product line. But some applications requires additional hardware to use external signals, to control additional peripheries or distributing image data.
For these requirements SILICONSOFTWARE develops usefull hardware addons, which enhance the functionality of the frame grabber product line.

Overview of the addons

product line/category remarks
microEnable III microEnable III / -XXL
CLIO CLIO CameraLink Input Output Unit for replication of the camera signal and distribution on up to 256 microEnable III
Trigger OPTO trigger Opto couppled trigger with 8 inputs and 4 outputs
Trigger TTL trigger Trigger for TTL signals with 8 inputs and 4 outputs

CLIO CLIO:

CameraLink outputs (front), CameraLink inputs (back), power supply (below CameraLink inputs).

CLIO board was developped for usage in "distributed processing". The CameraLink signals of the camera, which are input into the master microEnable III over up to two ports, are connected to CLIO boards with two cables. Using the output ports of the CLIO board, the CameraLink signals can be distributed to another microEnable III in the same or an external PC. Hereby a daisy chain can be setup of up to 256 CLIO boards.
CLIO can operate in different scenarios:

Application: Qualitative image processing
Point Use of the image processor on microEnable III for individual image pre-processing in realtime
Point Use of the host-CPU to process different image processings
Application: Quantitative image processing
Point Processing of separate areas of the camera sensor (setting of the hardware applets)
Point Sequential processing of single images (modulo-definition in hardware applets)
Technical features
General features Hardware features
Point Duplication on the input CameraLink signal Point Support of Dual Base and Medium cameras
Point Refresh of the CameraLink signal Point Support of up to 85 MHz
Point Distribution of the CameraLink signal on up to 256 microEnable III frame grabbers in a daisy chain Point Direct support of hardware applets: Operational use of partial or sequential image processing
Point Use of the image pre-processing capacity on microEnable III frame grabbers Point Software support with version 3.0+
Point Use of host PC CPU for additional image processing Point Delivery: CLIO board, two flat cables, power supply (over microEnable III)

OPTO Trigger OPTO trigger board:

Trigger in-/outputs (front), master/slave switch, master connector to microEnable III and slave connector (back).

The OPTO trigger board offers a comfortable opportunity to use opto couppled trigger signals to control cameras and external peripheries. Several microEnable III frame grabber boards can simply be synchronized with the master board. Status display over LEDs quickly shows the relevant operation information. The fast electronics of the trigger board and the hardware based processing of the signals on the microEnable III frame grabber additionally guarantees small latencies.
